IPO and Beauhurst publish IP filing habits of UK Higher Education Institutions

The Intellectual Property Office has published a report that analyses the intellectual property (IP) filing habits of UK Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and covers all three registered IP rights (patents, trade marks, and registered designs). Beauhurst provided data on the UK's academic spinouts which allowed analysis that looks at the number of patents registered by spinouts. The report also looks at how far spinouts migrate from the academic institution.
